t-table (ttable) with a significance level of 0.01 or 1%. The value of to was 4.01, while the value of tt with df 21 at the 5% significance level was 2.080. Therefore, the to score was higher than the ttable score obtained from the calculation, so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. This means that there was a significant difference between the students’ achievement in mastering vocabulary taught using English songs from Spotify and without using English songs from Spotify. In conclusion this study is expected to make a useful contribution to the field of English education and become a reference for further research. Thus, the use of English songs from Spotify can be one of the innovative and fun strategies in improving students' vocabulary skills. " " />

The aim of this research is to find out whether the effect of English songs from Spotify has an impact on the vocabulary mastery of 4th semester students at STKIP PGRI Trenggalek. This study used a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The population in this study was all 4th semester students, with a sample of 22 students randomly selected.
The research instrument used was a vocabulary mastery test given before and after the treatment. The treatment consisted of listening to English songs selected from Spotify for two weeks. After the two-week period, a posttest was given to measure the significant changes that occurred in students' vocabulary mastery.
The data obtained were analyzed using t-test to see the difference in vocabulary acquisition before and after treatment. The results showed that there was a significant increase in vocabulary acquisition after the treatment. This shows that listening to English songs from Spotify has a positive impact on students' vocabulary acquisition.
The findings of this study indicate that English songs can be used as one of the effective methods in English language learning to improve vocabulary acquisition. The songs are not only fun to listen to, but can also help students in understanding and remembering new vocabulary better through the oft-repeated lyrics and catchy melodies. From the data analysis using SPSS software, it was found that teaching vocabulary through songs is appropriate to implement in the classroom. In this research, the students’ mean Post-test score in the experimental class (75.45) was higher than the Pre-test score (64.09) with a gain score of 11.36. Based on the data analysis, the hypothesis was tested using a t-test (to) > t-table (ttable) with a significance level of 0.01 or 1%.
